Mr. Prakash Dhoka , Chairman
As our Chamber enters into 25th year of its journey, I consider it my privilege to be writing this message to our esteemed members. Silver Jubilee of any organisation is indeed a mile stone which we all must cherish. When I look back at our journey of 25 years, I feel proud that from our humble beginning as a small Association in 1994, we have come a long way. I shall be failing in my duty if I don’t express my heartfelt thanks and gratitude to all current and past members of Executive Committee, various sub Committees as well as every person who contributed in this journey of the Chamber. We would have not been here without their contribution.
Our task for next five years is cut out. We have to double our membership, increase the number of training programmes/ seminar/ workshops, make the sub committees more vibrant and play a meaningful role to provide value to our members. We are committed to take this Chamber to new heights in times to come and make our presence felt in more geographical areas around Industrial Belt of Pune. In a decade from now, your Chamber aims to be a state level organisations.
While placing on record my sincere appreciation for the support which you have always provided to Chamber, I would also like to request each and every member to increase their level of interaction with Chamber by sending participants in the various events/activities of Chamber and also suggest the areas where you expect your Chamber to venture in. I look forward to your support.
Wishing you all a Happy festive season ahead.
Mr. Prakash Dhoka
Mr. HP Srivastava, Vice Chairman
As we bid adieu to the year 2018 and welcome 2019, I will like to wish a “A very Happy and Prosperous New Year” to all our members. This is a significant year for DCCIA as we complete 25 years on 6th June 2019. As I look back at our journey from being a small Association to a Chamber of Commerce, with a reasonable presence in this Industrial belt, while I have a sense of satisfaction, I also feel that we could have done little more to position DCCIA at state/national level. May be, this will be our goal in next one / two decades.
As you may be aware that in this silver jubilee year of DCCIA, your Chamber is launching a mega event i.e “Winter Games” which will help in not only promoting the games like Kabaddi, Kho-Kho and Tug of war but will also provide an opportunity for member industries to interact and develop a sense comraderie and bonding. I appeal all of you to whole heartedly support this initiative by participating in large numbers.
We are also taking steps to strengthen various sub committees including adding few more sub committees. I need your support in this area as well. Please do nominate senior members of your team to be a part of these sub committees and spare them for meetings and other activities.
Before, I conclude I would like to share with you that a delegation of Executive members and their respective spouses visited Nagaland in first week of December, at the invitation of Hon Governor Shri PB Acharya, and attended “Hornbill Festival” commemorating The statehood day of Nagaland. It was a learning experience for all of us.
I thank each one of you for your whole hearted support to Chamber and once again wish you productive and prosperous new year.
With kind regards
Mr. Rathin Sinha, Secretary
The last year has seen unprecedented swings in the fortunes of business in general and industries in particular. There is no clear indication as to when the recession that has gripped the economy is going to release its bear-like hug. It is in such turbulent times that Nagar Road Industries Chamber of Commerce and Industry is being baptised as Deccan Chamber of Commerce Industry and Agriculture Pune or ‘DCCIA Pune’ for short. I have no doubt that the Chamber, in its new manifestation, will emerge stronger and will be better able to fulfill the aspirations of its member industries.
There are a host of issues which the industries have to cope with on a day-to-day basis that saps its energy and divert it from perusing more fruitful avenues. Industries have borne the brunt of erratic power cuts, traffic bottlenecks, water shortages, politically maneuvered manpower exodus and host of other irritants which continue to hold it down. The Chamber has always put forth the difficulties faced by member industries to the concerned authorities, many times with positive results. The Chamber is now set to take up a fresh set of initiatives to project the capabilities of member industries in world markets. In this Endeavour we are actively collaborating with UNIDO and Chambers of Commerce in other countries.
As Richard Nixon has beautifully said; “The finest steel comes from the hottest fire”, it is more important now than ever before to don our thinking caps and build a culture of innovation not only in manufacturing, but also in offering new products & services in new markets, unknown to us before. It is expected that the restructuring of the world economy will change the landscape of international markets and offer Indian companies a never-before opportunity to be globally competitive. The future beckons us. Let us all put our shoulder to the wheel and collectively fulfill the aspiration for a developed India with sustainable development and inclusive growth.
Ms.Sandhya Kanakia, General Manager
